History

History is the documentation of incidents&sbquo events and memorable facts over the course of time in human society. The word history comes from a Greek word meaning "finding out." In principle it is the documentation of daily events and incidents following the time line&sbquo but it must have a certain viewpoint or order as a background. It has also been pointed out that recordings of historical facts and truths very greatly depending on the political regime in power when they were written. There have been many cases of institutional pressure being applied to writers or the objectivity of the documentation being compromised due to the subjective ideas and interpretations of the power holders.
The world has already entered the modern age where historical science has been established as an academic field that possesses objectivity as knowledge through research ant theories. It is further noteworthy today that various methods of recording history have emerged including video recordings&sbquo and they are transforming the conventional viewpoints or order of historical records to historical information.
The history of design naturally considers design as its core subject&sbquo and design has finally become incorporated in the same platform as such field as art history&sbquo architectural history&sbquo and the history of music. It was only at the end of the 20th century when the history of design started to become an academic field. I&sbquo however&sbquo believe that mere documentation of chronological or period-wise design works and achievements&sbquo or epochal events that changed the course of design will not be sufficient for establishing a historical philosophy of design. What's important is the viewpoint and stances that spin out the relationships with design within the general history. In other words&sbquo it might be possible to make clear what explorative design is by re-examining the "academic logic" or "viewpoint of the history" of history from the design point of view. Moreover&sbquo I believe exploring "what is history" rather than "what history is" though design will be possible as history&sbquo provenance&sbquo and context from the standpoint of the designer.
